SANGAI INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY“External Student” means a Private Student who is registered at Main Campus of the University for any certificate or diploma or degree programme, but study independently outside the University in accordance with section 2(1)(j) and 5(36) of the Sangai International University Act, 2012, provided they are eligible for admission under the Regulation;
1. Is Sangai International University recognized by UGC?
Sangai International University is maintained and recognized by UGC in accordance with the provisions contained in section 2(f) of University Grant Commision Act, 1956 and empowered to award degrees in term of section 22 of UGC Act,1956. The UGC will visit us formally only after starting operations to ensure that our programmes are compliant. The University Grants Commission (UGC), a statutory body of the Government of India established 1956 through an Act of Parliament, is the highest institution responsible for the coordination, determination and maintenance of standards of university education in India.
2. Is Sangai International University recognized by the AICTE?
As per law, established universities do not fall directly under the purview of the AICTE. The Sangai International University being a University is authorized to start and conduct new programmes/courses, without obtaining prior approval of the AICTE. However, for the purpose of ensuring coordinated and integrated development of technical education, and maintenance of standards, the AICTE may cause an inspection and render advice.
